I have traced the census record back as far as a can... what next?
I looked up how to find your ancestor before 1850 and I thought looking at land records might be a good start.
According to the research project I read about the Fraizer, they owned land for a long time. Land Ownership was hard to achieve for african americans at that time, so I can conclude that they had a certain mind sent. A mindset that would propel them toward ownership for generations. On ancestry.com under the U.S index of land ownership maps, I found two records of Fraizers that owned land in Dutchess County in 1876.
L M Fraizer and Widow Fraizer.
The student from the project had a guess about who the Widow Fraizer was but who is L M Fraizer.
